I piece I did in early 2009. Some of you may have seen this in my livejournal earlier this year.

This image is one of many spot illustrations to be used in my third how-to-draw book (this time centered exclusively around dragons). This image is the spot illustration that sits alongside a wing unit about wings that do not have branched fingers, and are instead a single large flap of skin stretched tight by a single bone structure along the top, much like a pterodactyl. I added a quick background for it for web display.

harhar its a raptor with wings COOL!
Nice dragon. The no fingers thing is cool, though I've always personally thought that it pulls away from the dragon and makes it look more like a dino. Not my style, personally, but I'm not the author with the how to draw books. DragonArt: how to draw fantastic dragons and fantasy creatures was the first how to draw book i ever bought and I've never regretted it. It's also one of the best how to drw dragons books ive seen. most of the others are made for people that use photoshop and have curved away from the 'how to draw'.
good work, though. keep it up and everyone will know who you are

It's a Deinonychus dragon! Big talons like daggers!

The eyes are so...feral. Such a wild dragon!

I love what you did with this dragon. It looks like a raptor. when would you be done with your third book?

I wonder, what would a species like this be called?

Back on topic, lovely picture. I've always loved Dinosaurs and I've always loved Dragons. Seeing something that is a mix of the two just screams awesome.
